SSDA scuba diving centre educates scuba divers to become certified recreational Sidemount scuba divers, to continue their scuba diving education using the Sidemount and to remain dedicated to Sidemount scuba diving.
Diving Sidemount brings the underwater world close to a scuba diver and makes scuba diving natural and light. Sidemount also allows scuba diving with more than one air tank. More important is that Sidemount enables effortless buoyancy and hover performance. Thus, it is a favourite scuba diving setup among photographers and videographers, who need a shaky-free photo and video taking, and others who struggle with hover and buoyancy or who prefer to have abundant reserve of air. Sidemount combined with Nitrox guarantee extended bottom time within leisure scuba diving limits. Who among scuba divers would not like that?!
How is that possible?
SSDA provides Global Referral From to an instructor at SSDA scuba diving destination which states that a scuba diving student has completed an academic and confined water portion of the scuba diving course and that’s ready to undertake the open water portion of the course which is necessary for certification.
Important to note is that before starting a scuba diving course, a student candidate has to demonstrate swimming skills. The swimming evaluation must be completed prior to any scuba skill being taught and includes 200m swim or 400m snorkel swim and 10min treading water.
Not a swimmer or not confident in the water, but want to become a scuba diver? Not a problem. Enrol in a Snorkeler course. Upon successful completion of this course, you may enrol in the "Open Water Scuba Diver Course”.
Minimum age 18 or 10 through 17, with written parental consent.
Students between the ages of 10 through 14 may obtain an Junior Open Water Scuba Diver Certification if the following conditions are met: junior students are to train and dive under the direct supervision of a parent, guardian, or active dive professional. When an Junior Open Water Diver reaches the age of 15, they may upgrade to an Open Water Scuba Diver certification.
